The All-New 2016 Honda Civic has been one of the most highly anticipated cars of the year and of course many Honda fans waiting outside. Now when all eyes are on this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda instead decided to launch a 10th-generation Civic sedan in Los Angeles, United States, a few days ago.
Compared to the current model, the 2016 Civic sedan has now changed dramatically and has become the first variant of the many new Civic models to be launched by Honda. That’s right, the Japanese-based automaker has plans to launch many new Civic models, including sedans, coupes, 5-door hatchback, Civic Si and high-performance Type R, which are all ready to be released soon in the U.S. market.
If you ask me about the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan Release Date, now I have the answer! Honda says the new model is scheduled to be sold at U.S. dealerships starting this fall. Unfortunately, Honda has not revealed the official pricing details at this time, but rumors say the price tag of the new 2016 Civic sedan will range at $18,700 – $22,880.
Honda offers two engine choices for the U.S.-spec models. The first option is a 2.0-liter direct-injection engine that can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT. Peak output of the 2.0-liter engine is claimed to reach over 158 horsepower. If you are not satisfied, now look at the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that will be available exclusively for the U.S. market with a CVT, while its peak output hitting 173 HP. Fuel economy estimated at 40 mpg on the highway, for both engine options.
Speaking of its exterior design, the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan is claimed to have increased by 12% in terms of aerodynamic efficiency thanks to a sleek design and body structure. While the ultra-high-strength steel material has improved torsional rigidity by 25%, according to Honda. The 2016 model year is now 30,8 kg lighter than the current model, despite the new Civic seems to look bigger than the previous generation.
The all-new Civic sedan will be equipped with many standard premium features such as automatic climate control, which will be available for all variants. However, the EX-L trims get dual-zone, adjustable driver’s seat, electronic parking brake, auto-up/down front power windows and much more. The new infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen display is also available (supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto).
Now prepare your money and visit your local Honda dealer, of course you will see the 2016 Civic Type R there. hehehe, sorry just a joke. Further details about the 2016 Honda Civic will be available at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, I expect the price tag is also disclosed later. Stay tuned…
