The Nissan Navara has been introduced for the first time in the Asian market since 1997 as a replacement for Nissan D21 Hardbody truck. Basically, the Navara is another name for the Nissan D22 and D40 pickup trucks, especially for the Asian market. However, in some markets such as the Philippines and North America, it’s commonly known as the Nissan Frontier.
North America became the primary market for the Nissan D22 series, since this pickup truck is no longer sold in the Japanese domestic market in 2002. This pickup truck is now built at Nissan’s Smyrna plant in Tennessee. As for the European market, the Navara is sold as the Nissan NP300 and built at Nissan’s Barcelona plant in Spain.
After a few years sold in many markets in the world, Nissan has now officially launched the all-new NP300 Navara and will hit the market as a 2015 model year. It’s the twelfth generation of the Nissan Navara which will be sold globally.
Exterior and Interior
The 2015 Nissan Navara is now adopting more luxurious exterior and interior design, as well as offer better fuel efficiency. The Yokohama automaker said that the new models get improved engine acceleration, more rigid frame, high-strength chassis, upgraded leaf suspension, easy to operate, as well as strong and modern design.
The twelfth-generation model comes with two new exterior color choices, including Savannah Yellow and The Earth Bronze. The exterior design looks more luxurious and has a dynamic character line thanks to Nissan’s V-motion front grille surrounded by chrome touches. LED daytime running lights also enhance its visual appeal, while the turn indicators are now mounted in the door mirrors.
Inside the cabin, the 2015 Nissan Navara pickup truck gets a redesign in its interior and has been using high-quality materials. Nissan claims the interior is quite spacious and comfortable, offering convenience for entrepreneurs and quiet relaxation during family journeys.
In order to offer a feeling of spaciousness, Nissan designers have redesigned dashboard with a gentle sweep and three-dimensional rich sections starting from the center panel to the door side. Some areas such as the dashboard, center cluster and console also receive many aluminum touches, while the seat gets fine stitches.
Navara interior is equipped with several features such as large center console and high-resolution TFT instrument displays with turn-by-turn navigation support, fuel economy indicator, compass, audio track and radio content. In addition, there’s also a customization feature that provides driver assistance, maintenance reminders and alerts, are available in a variety of languages.
