The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been revealed for the first time two months ago after some leaked photos hit the web, thanks to the article posted by some websites.
According to recent reports, the German automaker has plans to introduce the new C-Class sedan at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show to be held next month. It would be interesting to discuss, so we’ll present to you some detailed information related to its release date, price and engine specs.
Set to beat the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 sedan, the C-Class styling now looks more elegant and reportedly was inspired by his brother “S-Class”. To be sure, Mercedes-Benz will offer two different versions to all buyers, including the regular model and AMG versions. However, the regular model will allegedly also offered with the AMG sports package which is available as an optional.
Under the hood, the 2015 Mercedes C-Class is likely to hit the market with several powertrain choices including gasoline and diesel engines. The base model allegedly to come with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine capable of producing 128 horsepower, followed by a 1.8-liter turbocharged and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two different peak output – 182 HP and 249 HP.
A more powerful gasoline engine is also offered, the new C-Class will be equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that can develop up to 329 horsepower. If you prefer a diesel engine, you should be patient because the German automaker also offers several diesel options when the car was launched such as a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine.
A plug-in hybrid version of the car will also be available at the U.S. market in the near future, while the new C-Class AMG will allegedly powered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that enables the car to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4 seconds. The 2015 model year utilizes a Mercedes MRA modular platform with high-strength steel, composite and aluminum materials.
All engine options will be paired to a 4MATIC four-wheel drive system. Unfortunately, there’s no information about transmission options, as well as full output details. So we should be patient, because this new sedan will soon be officially revealed ahead of its first debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
Speaking about the release date and price, the 2015 Mercedes C-Class release date is set to be revealed before the end of 2014. The new model is scheduled to make its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show next month before the car will be launched at the U.S. market in late 2014.
