2015 Lexus RC F Coupe Release Date is scheduled for this September
After a myriad of rumors hit the internet for many months, the 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe has finally been fully revealed ahead of its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show next week. Toyota’s luxury-car brand also released some official photos of the high-performance Lexus RC but unfortunately, they have not announced its full specifications. The car brings truly impressive design, combining aggressive styling with sharp exterior design.
Outside, we can see the headlights design is so sharp combined with distinctive Lexus spindle grille designs, while the body lines look more aggressive than most other Lexus models. Some of the key exterior features include ram air-hood, IS headlights and ventilated fenders. At the rear end, the car is equipped with a four-tailpipe exhaust system and active rear-spoiler. Destined to become the most powerful V8 performance sports car, overall the new RC F Coupe has better aerodynamics.
This new model comes with an aerodynamic body kit consisting of aggressive front/rear bumpers, redesigned front grille, new side skirts and ventilated front fenders. The Lexus RC F Coupe ride on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels as standard and will be available in three different wheel designs. In addition, you also can order a carbon fiber components if you want, but it will only be offered as optional.
In addition to the carbon fiber components, Lexus will also offer active rear spoiler but as an optional component and is claimed to improve vehicle stability during the car running at high speed. The automaker said that the active rear spoiler would deploy when the car is running at speeds above 50 mph and then retracts when driving at speeds less than 25 mph.
Inside the cabin, the interior will have some similarities with standard RC Coupe but there is a difference in terms of features. The high-performance 2015 RC F Coupe is equipped with several new features that include a new instrument cluster, leather-wrapped sport seats and elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel. Unfortunately, the interior details are limited and Lexus have not provided complete details about its interior.
Talking about the engine specs, the company has yet to announce the full specs details but the 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe will most likely be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine with a maximum output up to 455 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 401 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. This high-performance V8 engine will reportedly be paired to a rear-wheel drive configuration and power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox featuring paddle shifters.
As a result, this allows the sports coupe to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and a top speed is limited to 186 mph. The 5.0L V8 claimed to be more fuel-efficient thanks to the use of cylinder deactivation technology. The driver can choose from three different driving modes, which include Normal, Sport and Snow.
As we’ve said in previous articles, the new 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe is likely to hit the U.S. dealer’s floor toward the end of this year or most likely the car will go on sale in September. However, Lexus has not announced official pricing details at this time, but some important information is expected to be revealed when the car was introduced at the Detroit Motor Show next week. So stay tuned for further updates.
