Are you one of the many fans of the Honda Civic that was waiting for the Type R production version? As we all know, Honda plans to launch the 2015 Civic Type R in the European market next year, but there are no plans for the U.S. market. However, the good news now is that the Japanese automaker has fully revealed its concept version at the Geneva Motor Show this month.
Honda does not brag about its technical specifications, they seem still silent and has not released full details. What we know so far is the engine spec details remain the same as the Civic Type R prototype that has been revealed in Japan ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show last year. However, Honda insists that the next-gen Civic Type R is a racing car that is destined for the road. So we can imagine themselves about what will be offered by the Japanese brand in the upcoming Type R models.
The 2015 Honda Civic Type R will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine capable of delivering up to 280 horsepower and certainly have passed the EURO 6 emission testing. The Civic Type R will be Honda’s first production car in Europe to receive the benefits from the use of the latest VTEC Turbo engine as part of Earth Dreams Technology.
The concept version is equipped with an aggressive body kit when this sport hatchback on display at the Geneva Motor Show, including aerodynamic side skirts, new bumpers design, rear diffuser and front splitter. At the rear end, Honda put the four-tailpipe exhaust system that further enhances the sporty impression of its high-performance hatchback. In addition, the Civic Type R concept also featuring LED-infused headlights, extended fenders and ventilated hood.
