2015 Dodge Challenger News: Release Date & Changes

The 2015 Dodge Challenger release date has been revealed and this new muscle car is expected to be launched next year by bringing some major changes as well as updated styling.

Some spy shots photos are pretty much appeared on the internet, which indicates that the new Challenger will come as a facelifted model. However, our sources say that the high-performance SRT8 Hellcat models will be powered by a new supercharged engine, complete with some high-tech features.

The 2015 Challenger will reportedly get a redesign in several areas such as bumpers, hood, front fascia and headlights. Moreover, most of the rumors also indicate that the 2015 model year certainly came up with a new front fascia design, redesigned bumpers and a revised hood design.

At the rear end, taillights will likely be equipped with LEDs, even though we know the Challenger prototype looks using heavy camouflage when undergoing testing recently. In addition, the facelifted model can also be equipped with a new wheel design.

As for the interior, the new Challenger is expected to come up with major changes to its interior design and adopts high-quality material. Interior allegedly also comes with some new high-tech features such as updated Uconnect interface and latest camera monitoring system.

Talking about the engine lineup, the base model may still rely on a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that can produce 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. While the Challenger R/T will likely still carry a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine capable of developing up to 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

According to a recent report, Dodge will reportedly offer a new 6.2-liter V8 HEMI supercharged engine on the 2015 Challenger SRT8 Hellcat with a peak output at least 640 horsepower. All three engine options can be available with eight-speed automatic gearbox as optional, according to MotorAuthority.

Speaking about the release date, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is scheduled to be launched next year and sales will begin in late summer 2014. However, this new model is likely to make its official debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

The all-new Challenger models are under development and will arrive in the future with a major redesign, as well as relying on a new rear-wheel drive configuration, which is basically developed by Fiat.
