Early last month General Motors has officially revealed their new SUV models, which include the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL. The 2015 model year looks better than the previous generation and gets some refreshment as well as important revisions to its exterior and interior design.
Speaking about the new 2015 Tahoe SUV, Chevrolet gives refreshment by offering an evolutionary exterior design, some changes and redesign. The new grille looks more prominent, while the headlights come with very new design, different from the previous model. The new SUV also gets a few chrome touches on its exterior.
Inside the cabin, the new Tahoe and Suburban offers similar interior features, but both vehicles get changes and improvements in terms of interior design. Last but not least, is the use of high-quality materials in both SUVs.
As for the interior features, the Detroit automaker put the technology features with new functions such as fold-flat second- & third-row seats that further enhance cargo convenience. They also offer a power-folding as an optional feature. Chevrolet says the legroom for second-row passengers are now two inches larger, making it easier for anyone to get in or out.
Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system with 8-inch color touchscreen radio is available as an optional only. While standard interior features include conversation mirror, rear-seat entertainment system, Blu-ray DVD player, six USB ports & power outlets with 110-volt three-prong outlet, push-button start as well as Keyless entry.
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe release date set for early next year
Several other improvements are present to enhance the driving experience such as stronger frame, wider rear track, third-gen magnetic ride control and real-time damping system. Standard equipment for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe include 18-inch wheels, new four-wheel-disc brake system with Duralife brake rotors plus revised brake pedal and new electric variable-assist power steering system which is claimed to improve fuel consumption. While the 20-inch and 22-inch wheels are available as optional equipment.
For safety features, Chevrolet offers several safety features on the new Tahoe such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert and lane departure warning. In addition, there are also front park assist, rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist. The 2015 model year is also equipped with front-seat center air-bag, Chevrolet’s safety alert seat and anti-theft system.
Under its hood, the 2015 Chevy Tahoe SUV is powered by an EcoTec3 5.3-liter direct-injection V8 engine mated to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic gearbox. The EcoTec3 V8 engine capable of spewing up to 355 horsepower and maximum torque up to 383 lb-ft. The EcoTec3 powertrain featuring cylinder deactivation technology, CVVT (continuous variable valve timing) and advanced combustion system.
Speaking about its release date, the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships early next year and the new SUV will be built at the GM assembly plant in Arlington, Texas.
