The official release date schedule for the all-new 2014 Mazda3 Sedan has been fully revealed. The new four-door sedan is scheduled to be released later this year, most likely around November and especially for the global market as well as the North American market.
Some leaked images of the all-new Mazda3 sedan hit the web some time ago, which showed that the fresh sedan is really similar to its hatchback version. As you’d expect, Mazda’s Kodo design language has been applied to this new model, which makes it quite identical with the Mazda6 sedan.
At first glance, it certainly looks similar to the Mazda6 but there are some points that make it different, of course. Overall, the 2014 model year has adopted an elegant and dynamic exterior design. However, the Japanese automaker providing attractive touch to make its body design becomes sharper with sleek headlights and prominent front grille.
Talking about the engine specs, there’s no official confirmation from Mazda so far. However, several major media have speculated that the 2014 Mazda3 sedan will arrive on the European continent with a three different engine options with Mazda SkyActiv technology. The SkyActiv-G 1.5-liter gasoline engine will be the first option for the European market, with a power output of just 99 horsepower.
Higher power output will be available in the second option, where each buyer can choose the SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine that can offer two different outputs. Depending on the buyer tastes, they can choose 118-horsepower or 163-horsepower.
However, if you want a turbo-diesel engine for your Mazda3 sedan, now the Japanese automaker has also prepared a SkyActiv-D 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine for the European market. Unfortunately, the SkyActiv diesel engine only offer a peak output up to 148 horsepower.
2014 Mazda 3 Sedan Release Date is scheduled for later this year
Regardless of the engine spec details, the 2014 Mazda3 four-door sedan will be available in two transmission options for Euro-spec models, including a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The first option is a standard transmission for these front-wheel drive sedans, while the automatic version is only offered as optional.
Meanwhile, Mazda will offer a higher engine spec for the North American market, starting from a SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 155 horsepower, followed by the SkyActiv-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine capable of spewing up to 184 horsepower. In addition, Mazda also plans to offer a 2.2L turbo-diesel unit to the American continent, which is the same as the European spec models.
