Japan’s best car magazine recently claimed that they have two leaked images showing the 2014 Lexus RC F Coupe. There’s no official confirmation from Lexus at this time, but the fresh coupe has a more aggressive front fascia design and unique spindle grille as well as huge air intakes.
On the other hand, these images also indicate that the new Lexus RC F is equipped with a 4-tailpipe exhaust system, ram air-hood, active rear-spoiler, IS headlights and ventilated fenders.
Under its hood, the coupe is likely to be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that is capable of spewing up to 455 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 401lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The V8 engine will be mated to an 8-speed automated manual gearbox with paddle shifters as well as offering three driving modes including Normal, Sport and Snow.
I heard rumors saying that the new engine is more efficient in terms of fuel consumption compared to the old 5.0L V8 engine that has been offered in the Lexus IS F variants.
This is because the new V8 engine has been equipped with cylinder deactivation technology, which serves to disable the four-cylinder during driving on the highway when the peak power output is not used by the driver.
Speaking about its release date, the 2014 Lexus RC F coupe is expected to go on sale next September after the car made its first debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January.
