If you’re looking for release date information of the 2014 Accord Hybrid, Honda has now announced the official launch schedule for this new hybrid model. As you know, the Japanese automaker has revealed the new Accord Hybrid for the U.S. market some time ago, complete with some pictures.
According to a Honda press release, the 2014 model year brings class-leading MPG ratings combined with a futuristic design and more exclusive styling. This is the first Honda hybrid models scheduled to start assembled at Honda’s Marysville plant in Ohio.
Talking about technical specs, this new sedan came with a two-motor hybrid system consisting of a 12-kW electric motors and 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine. The 2.0L four-cylinder engine featuring Honda’s i-VTEC technology and DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft).
There are three driving modes options that can be chosen by each driver, including EV Drive, Engine Drive and Hybrid Drive. EV Drive mode is basically making the car will run in pure electric mode, where the lithium-ion battery will play its important role in this mode. Unlike the EV Drive mode, all power will be sent directly to the front wheels when the car is started in an Engine Drive mode.
However, Hybrid Drive mode is basically a perfect combination of the EV Drive and Engine Drive mode. The 2.0L Atkinson-cycle and 12-kW electric motors will run together in order to get better fuel economy and more powerful acceleration. The 2014 Accord Hybrid sedan has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 49/45/47 mpg (city/highway/combined).
The exterior design is based on the regular models, but Honda gave some improvement to make it a little different than the non-hybrid Accord models. Some exclusive exterior features that can be found, including special alloy-wheels design, unique hybrid-badge, LED daytime running lights and blue-accented grille.

Meanwhile, the interior benefits from the use of some Honda innovative features, including LaneWatch blind-spot display, 8-inch color i-MID display, seven-speaker audio system and perforated leather-seats.
As for release date, the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid Release Date is scheduled for this October, according to Honda. So this new model will be available at the U.S. dealerships in October 2013, but Honda hasn’t announced official pricing details for the U.S. market, at least for now.
