The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show held from September 10 to 22 became an important place for the French automaker to showcase the Peugeot 308 R concept. According to recent reports, this fresh hatchback concept is a preview production version of the all-new Peugeot French. However, the car will adopt a similar engine as it has been used in the RCZ R sports coupe.
So, we can ensure a turbocharged 1.6-liter THP four-cylinder engine will be mounted on a full production version of the 2013 Peugeot 308 R Concept. This turbo-powered engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox in order to transfer power to the front wheels, while the Torsen differential will also be installed.
Talking about its maximum output, the four-cylinder engine is capable of spewing up to 270 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 243 lb-ft of torque at 1,900 rpm. Unfortunately, there’s no further information that we can write here, however, at least the production version will have average fuel consumption of around 6.3-liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions reach up to 145 g/km.
The Peugeot 308 R is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels shod in 235/35 R19 tires, while the braking system derived from Alcon and the concept is 26mm lower than the standard model. There is no further information, scroll down your mouse if you want to see the photo gallery.
