2013 Honda NSX Concept-GT Revealed: To Debut at Suzuka

In order to compete in the fifth round of the 2014 SUPER GT Series in Suzuka Japan this weekend, Honda now has officially revealed the 2013 NSX Concept-GT, which is set to enter the GT500 class.

Japanese-based automaker said that the NSX Concept-GT racecar is entirely based on the NSX Concept sports car that has made its first debut early last year at the Detroit Motor Show. This racecar is eligible with the 2014 GT500 regulations that have been released by the Japan Automobile Federation, according to Honda.

Outside, Honda made some important modifications to its exterior, including installing a wide body kit that is the hallmark of the Super GT racecar. We can also see the carbon-fiber front spoiler lip, side-vents, huge rear-wing and lowered suspension. The car ride on multi-spoke alloy-wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires.

Under its hood, the 2013 Honda NSX Concept-GT is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter direct-injection engine which adopts inline four-cylinder configuration, mid-mounted setup and racing hybrid system. Unfortunately, Honda is still tight-lipped about the performance figures that can be generated by these racecars. However, the full production version of the new Acura NSX concept will begin production at Honda’s Ohio plant with a release date schedule in 2015.
